Men of War takes place in Europe and North Africa during the height of World War II. The story takes place over three different campaigns and players take on the role of Soviet, Allied and German soldiers. Each campaign has its own scenario and structured timeline, which brings different elements of the war.

Men of War is a popular and critically acclaimed real-time strategy game that was released in 2009. It was developed by Best Way, published by 1C Company and 1C-SoftClub and release during a time when more fantastic settings were the standard for RTS games. This is a trial version of the game that lets you play through one of the missions to determine if you’d enjoy the full game.

Environments and people are accurately recreated, and the graphics engine was cutting-edge at the time.

In addition to the single-player content, you can play against other people on a LAN or via the Internet. Multiplayer can be played like single-player but with multiple human players controlling some or all sides. There are also faster, multiplayer-oriented modes available, including Capture the Flag and High-Value Cargo. Note that this game was affected by the GameSpy shutdown. Playing games via the Internet now requires DirectIP, GameRanger or a similar solution.

There was a dozen or so DLC packs released for this game, so keep them in mind if you want the complete game experience. Much of this post-release content was multiplayer-oriented, but there are single-player missions and campaigns, including Assault Squad, Condemned Heroes, Red Tide and even Vietnam, which changing the setting completely. Fortunately, a Men of War: Collector Pack that brings all of this content together is available and often at a much-reduced rate.
