Best Craigslist Apps

1. CPlus

CPlus says that it is officially licensed by Craigslist and while I could not find any evidence to support it, the app works flawlessly. The UI and design is modern and functional, a refreshing take on the otherwise minimalist look of the website.

While most people search within a single city, avid travelers and shoppers like to search nearby cities too. CPlus will let you search multiple cities at once. Depending on what you need, you can filter results by text, text+images or just images view. Useful when you are looking to buy physical products online. Looking for jobs? Searching for the same phrases repeatedly? You can save your searches for future references. Other filters include price, bundles, payment mode, and distance.

CPlus also allows users to create or edit ads and classifieds and post them to Craigslist. One of the best Craigslist apps.

2. CL Mobile

CL Mobile is a dedicated app to browse classified ads marketplace that is not limited to just Craigslist. There is also support for other classified sites like Facebook, Google, Locanto, and more. The UI is not as pleasing as CPlus but functional.

CL Mobile works similarly. You can create an account and post ads or edit them. You cannot save your favorite searches however you can save favorite ads which makes it easy to find them later again. You can search for ads and classified in multiple cities at once but cannot search in multiple marketplaces.

The app is free to use but is ad-supported which can be removed with an in-app purchase.

3. CSmart

CSmart is for iOS platform what CL Mobile is for Android. This means you can use this app to surf Craigslist ads and classifieds on iPhones and iPads. There is support for just one classified site but the Craigslist app works pretty well.

You can search and save your favorites ads. Looking for something specific? Save it and CSmart will send you a notification the next time it becomes available in the market. You can also save your frequently used searches. Travelers will be happy because you can search multiple cities at once. Finally, there is support for filter where depending on the category of listing, you can filter by price, location, area, color, condition, date, and so on. It comes with a lot of useful shortcuts like color coded city-wise listings and highlighted new listings.

One feature I like is the ability to view past searches in the history column.

4. Qwilo

Qwilo is a solid competitor and has a strong claim to be the number one Craigslist app for iOS powered smartphones. There is a handy contact button beside every listing, even in the searches which makes it very quick to contact the poster.

The design of the app is aesthetically pleasing with a night mode that is all the rage these days. While most of the features are free, you will have to pay $1 to unlock notifications and saved searches. I think this is reasonable for an app like Qwilo.

Other features like the ability to search in multiple cities at once, post and edit a listing, and sort or filter search results by price, location, area, size, and so on are all there.

5. Postings

Postings is an Android app for Craigslist which will show you ads and classified postings from the popular site. Apart from support for multiple city searches, there is also support for multiple layouts which cater to different types of users. For example, you can sort results in lists with just text, tiles with images or just images.

There is also support for multiple location searches with the option to save your searches or favorite ads in one place. There are no use of funky colors here in the layout as we saw in some other apps previously. This gives the app a minimalist look.

You can press the star button to bookmark or save a listing but you can’t save frequently made searches. Finally, you can sort the listings on Craigslist and filter results by name, type, area, price, location, picture only, date and so on. The app is ad-supported which can be removed with an in-app purchase.

6. Daily Craigslist Classifieds

This Craigslist app is more like a mobile browser with a bare-minimum UI on the inside. You can browser one or more city at a time but there are no advanced features like night mode.

You begin choosing a city either manually or using GPS and begin searching by keywords or by category. You will see a list of your recent search history but that’s it. You can however save individual listings or search phrases so there’s that. One good thing about the app is the reply templates. If you find yourself sending the same message or reply over and over again, you can save it as a template and re-use it whenever you want.

The Craigslist app for Android is free to use and ad-supported. You can remove these ads for a one-time payment of $2.99.

Features like the ability to browse multiple cities at once, save your favorite ads and searches for future references, filter listings, and sort them are all available in here. The UI is good and functional but when compared with some of the other apps like Cplus, it is okay. The real pull of Smobile for Craigslist is the ability to maintain anonymity. All sorts of people use Craigslist and you will find so many ads including adult listings. In such a situation, it becomes important to maintain your privacy and think about your security.
